Deep tissue

A deep tissue massage is adjusted to manipulate the deeper tissue layers in the body. It means all the tissue layers that lay on top of the muscle, though not the muscle itself. This type of pressure is still efficient enough to release any newly formed or small knots and to stretch stiff muscles. Big tension knots are caused by a build up over time, or because of injury which what sport massage deals with well.

Hotstone

Hot stone massage is a natural therapy in which warmed stones are positioned on parts of the client’s body to maximize the therapeutic benefits. The heat from the stones helps your muscles relax, allowing the massage therapist to manipulate your deep tissues more effectively. As the heat from the stones penetrates into your deeper body tissues, your blood vessels open, resulting in improved circulation. Increased circulation delivers more oxygen to the muscles, which ease aches and pains.

Infrared

Infrared heat is a form of energy that allows you to heat your body more effectively and penetrate more deeply than other types of heat. Help Muscular Injuries: Increasing blood flow to your injured muscle helps increase healing, infrared heat also releases nitric oxide. Nitric oxide improves circulation and increases the oxygen and other nutrients coming to help heal the injured area.

Help Wounds Heal: Another benefit to infrared heat is that it helps wounds heal more quickly, increasing circulation and nitric oxide levels in the area around the wound speeds up the healing process. This is especially beneficial to those who have a difficult time healing, such as diabetics.

 

Sport

A sport massage is the manipulation of the muscles in order to prevent or improve sports injuries. It includes more aggressive techniques that approach muscles more deeply. It increases blood flow to the muscles and breaking down scar tissue in order to maintain proper nutrients and blood flow to the muscles. It can be done during training, before or after events, to enhance performance, or promote healing post-injury. Sports can be repetitive, especially for athletes.

Pregnancy

Prenatal massage can ease muscular discomfort and tightening that can be experienced throughout the body e.g. calf cramps. Reduces swelling and oedema in hands, feet and ankle. Also helps with sciatic pain. Increases relaxation and relief of emotional tension which in turn can help with insomnia

Cupping

A therapeutic cupping treatment involves placing cups on the skin. A vacuum is created, and when it is applied to the skin, the tissue is drawn up into the cup. This increases the blood flow, loosens the fascia or connective tissue, and is thought to stimulate healing and reduce muscle pain. The cups are often placed on the back, neck, and shoulders or the site of pain. Cupping may cause temporary bruising and soreness, depending upon the degree of suction created by the vacuum and the level of internal stagnation.
